Tom heads up Leader’s consumer PR and digital marketing team. He’s been working in PR for 10 years now and is proud to be one of the early PR degree graduates in the UK. But that’s enough of the usual profile speak, this is what Tom thinks:

“I’ve been at Leader for over five years now working my way up from senior account executive. When I first joined from Vodafone I’m happy to admit I was pretty inexperienced in the ways of the PR consultancy. The biggest difference was the pace of activity! When I worked in a big team for a big company things could take ages to actually happen – this certainly isn’t the case in an agency!

“The PR game itself has changed over the last ten years too. The decline in newspaper circulation and the explosion of the internet makes it an exciting time to be a PR guy. For me PR has always had a broad meaning, I’ve never really wanted to limit my campaigns to traditional PR methods and online developments now allow us to interact on a very personal level with the public.

“In my view PR is the way forward! I know what you’re thinking – he would say that, but I actually believe PR consultants are best placed to understand a dynamic marketplace and exploit the opportunities it offers.”
