Lords-a-leaping with Leader
Here are some of the team’s favourite puns from the coverage achieved through PR activity:
'Peers
batter MPs in pancake race' – BBC
'Flipping
fast pancake race' – The Sun
'Lords leap to victory
in Parliamentary Pancake Race' – PA 'Flipping heck'
– Evening Standard
'Egg-cellent' – Scunthorpe Telegraph
The Lords team took the champions crown at the annual Rehab UK Parliamentary Pancake Race after seeing off competition from a team of MPs and the political media team.
ITV newscaster Mary Nightingale officially started the race and ensured fair play all round, watching the teams from the House of Lords, the House of Commons and the Parliamentary Press Gallery closely to ensure that the participants observed the rules of engagement.
Mary said: "It was a real delight to see politicians, and indeed the media, get out of their comfort zone and lend their support to this very worthy cause. Of course, it’s all just a bit of fun and the real winner must be Rehab UK and awareness of the really valuable work that it does for people with brain injury."
The race is organised every year by national brain injury charity Rehab UK to raise awareness of its work with people with brain injuries.
