Our HistoryThrough The Front of a Fag Packet
Leader was founded in 1965 as Leader Art and Press Services. The consultancy’s founder was Bryan Holden who realised a boyhood ambition when he set up business in a bijou office in Pimlico Street, Birmingham. Bryan often talks of how he entered his office through a door through a poster that advertised Peter Stuyvesant cigarettes!
By 1983, when James joined his father, Leader was occupying elegant Georgian offices in Birmingham’s wealthy Edgbaston suburb – not far from the famous Test match arena. Leader’s reputation for creative yet effective PR and communications was well established – a great base on which to build.
From 1996 Leader has been based in Warwickshire. First in Henley in Arden for several years and most recently at the Old Stables just outside Srtratford-upon-Avon. “We’re gradually getting closer to the birthplace of the greatest communicator of all time,” James laughs, “and we’re doing all we can to make our clients’ as well thought of in their spheres of activity as the Bard is in his.”
