Charity SupportThe African Oyster Trust is a small charity set up by Leader’s Managing Director James Holden. The Trust is particularly involved in setting up and funding educational and health projects in former British colonies of Africa and particularly, the Gambia one of the smallest and poorest countries in Africa.
We believe that education is one of the most powerful and long-lasting ways of breaking the cycle of poverty so we focus on carefully selected local projects that are aimed at making a real difference to children and their families. Our current projects include nursery schools and a health centre treating an average of 250 patients every month.
We pride ourselves on not wasting any money on unnecessary administration with the majority of our costs and responsibilities being covered by unpaid trustees, directors and volunteers. Even the smallest donations can make a big difference so if you are interested in finding out more about our work and how you can help, visit our website www.africanoystertrust.co.uk or call James on 01789 739240.
